From our founding by the late Dr. Francis Apiagyei Poku in 1973 to our Dansoman clinic today, we blend long experience with gentle, patient-first dentistry for the whole family.
Dr. Francis Apiagyei Poku
(Affectionately known as "Dentist Poku")
Dr. Francis Apiagyei Poku studied dentistry at the University of Bristol, graduating in 1965. He returned to Ghana in 1969 to work as a dental surgeon for the Ministry of Health at Ridge Hospital.
In 1973 he resigned to open his own practice, Poku Memorial Dental Clinic, one of the pioneering private dental practices in the country. He was active in the Ghana Dental Association, the Ghana Medical Association and the Commonwealth Dental Association, and for many years led the Mfantsipim Old Boys Association.
“Dentist Poku” passed away in January 2019, aged 83. Generations of Ghanaian families he cared for remember him for his gentleness and his dedication to his community.
Today, Poku Memorial Dental Clinic honors that enduring vision by combining time-tested compassion with modern equipment and careful infection control.
