1.About these terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of this website and the online services of Poku Memorial Dental Clinic (“the Clinic”, “we”, “us”), including appointment requests, the patient portal, reviews and the virtual assistant. By using the website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
Your clinical care is also governed by the consent you give at the clinic before treatment and by the standards of our health regulators. If these terms conflict with those, the clinical consent and regulatory standards take priority.
2.Not a substitute for professional advice
Information on this website, including toothache tips and answers from the virtual assistant, is general and for information only. It is not a diagnosis and does not replace an examination by a qualified dental or medical professional. Do not ignore professional advice or delay seeking care because of something you read here.
The virtual assistant is an automated tool. It does not see your records and can make mistakes. No clinician–patient relationship is created by using the website alone.
3.Emergencies
This website is not for emergencies. If you have facial swelling spreading to your eye or neck, difficulty breathing or swallowing, heavy bleeding that will not stop, or a serious injury, call the national emergency number 112 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department straight away. Messages sent through the website or WhatsApp may not be read immediately.
4.Appointments
- An online booking is a request. It is only confirmed when the Clinic contacts you to confirm the date and time.
- Please give accurate contact details so we can reach you. We may decline or cancel requests that appear false or abusive.
- If you cannot attend, please tell us at least 24 hours in advance so we can offer the time to another patient.
- We will try to see you on time, but emergencies or complex treatment can cause delays. We may need to reschedule, and if so we will contact you as early as we can.
- A parent or legal guardian must book for, and accompany, patients under 18.
5.Fees, payment and insurance
- Prices shown or discussed online are estimates. Your dentist will explain the treatment plan and its cost after examining you, and before treatment begins wherever possible.
- Unless agreed otherwise in writing, fees are payable at the time of treatment.
- If an insurer or health scheme is covering your treatment, you remain responsible for any amount it does not pay.
- Treatment plans may change if your dentist finds something new during treatment. We will discuss any change in cost with you first, except in an emergency.
6.Patient portal accounts
- You must be 18 or over to create an account, and the information you give must be accurate.
- Keep your password secret and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You can reset your password using Forgot password.
- We may suspend or close accounts that are misused or that put others' information at risk.
7.Reviews and content you post
You can post a review without an account. By posting, you confirm that it reflects your own genuine experience, and you give us a free, non-exclusive licence to display it on our website.
Reviews must not:
- be false, misleading, or written in return for payment or a benefit;
- contain personal or health information about anyone else, including other patients or staff;
- be abusive, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening or obscene;
- contain advertising, spam, links or phone numbers.
We publish reviews as submitted and do not edit them, but we may remove any review that breaks these rules. Our responses to reviews never confirm whether someone is a patient.
8.Acceptable use
You must not use the website to break the law, to attempt to access information or accounts that are not yours, to interfere with its security or operation, to send automated or bulk requests, or to upload anything harmful. We may block access and report misuse to the authorities.
9.Intellectual property
The website's content, design, name and logo belong to the Clinic or our licensors. Some photographs are used under licence from their creators. You may view and print pages for personal use, but you may not copy or reuse them commercially without our written permission.
10.Third-party services and links
The website links to and uses services such as Google Maps and WhatsApp. These are run by other companies under their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
11.Availability and liability
We try to keep the website accurate and available, but we provide it “as is” and cannot guarantee it will always be error-free or uninterrupted. Opening hours and services may change. Please call to confirm before travelling.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the website, or from relying on general information on it, including indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Your statutory rights as a patient and consumer are not affected.
12.Privacy
Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain how we use personal information and cookies. They form part of these terms.
13.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page at the time you use the website applies. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
14.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction over any dispute. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest stays in effect. Before going to court, please contact us so we can try to resolve your concern directly.
